Noel Lothian Hall - Adelaide Botanic Garden

An idyllic and peaceful bespoke black box theatre, an outdoor rose garden bar by Blanco, and with views of First Creek, the Cascade Fountain and the Bicentennial Conservatory, the Noel Lothian Hall is not your typical fringe venue.

Every season, it is home to a program of theatrical events, curated by Artistic Director Joanne Hartstone and run by South Australian Artists and Fringe Lovers. Previous shows include The Bunker Trilogy, The Girl Who Jumped Off The Hollywood Sign, Dietrich: Natural Duty, That Daring Australian Girl, Orpheus, My Name Is Saoirse, Naughty Hands, Flood, jden redden: Expert At The Card Table, Nuclear Family, Elements, Subconscious, Blink, and many more.

Our Award-Winning Venue

- Where Fringe Gets Classy

Since hosting The Bunker Trilogy in 2016, shows at the Noel Lothian Hall have won eleven Adelaide Fringe Awards including the inaugural Made In Adelaide Award, three Best Theatre Awards, and two Adelaide Critics Circle Awards. Plus our Artistic Director, Head of Production, and Front of House Manager have all individually won ‘Spirit Of The Fringe’ awards.

The 90 seat studio has been designed by Tom Kitney to facilitate high quality productions with cutting edge technical capabilities. An intelligent lighting rig, haze effects, surround sound system and integrated projection ensure that productions can benefit from the highest possible production values. Our facilities also include backstage dressing rooms and kitchen, storage, bathrooms - plus an auditorium with the added benefits of air-conditioning, total blackout and reduced noise bleed. And… we have one of the most beautiful box offices in Adelaide.

The Noel Lothian Hall is a blank canvas for fringe performers and a gorgeous retreat for patrons from the busy bustle of the east end. Find us on Hackney Road (parking lot 39), just minutes away from Adelaide's bustling east-end fringe gardens, North Terrace tram stop and Rundle Street.
